About Joel
Joel Kershaw trained first as a student of language and later as a lawyer. He earned a Juris Doctor from Ave Maria School of Law in 2004 after completing undergraduate work at Western Michigan University, where he studied Spanish and received a Bachelor of Science. He stayed connected to Michigan through his studies and career.
After law school Kershaw entered practice in Michigan. Over time he has taken on both firm management duties and client-facing work. He has been listed as a member and manager of Kershaw, Vititoe & Jedinak, PLC, and he has held membership in Kershaw Legal Services, PLLC since 2007. Those roles have kept him engaged in the business and operational sides of running a law practice as well as the day-to-day tasks of representing clients.
Colleagues describe him as steady in the office and direct in the courtroom. He has balanced administrative responsibilities with legal work, dividing time between supervising associates and handling matters himself. That combination has shaped how he approaches case strategy and client communication. He emphasizes clarity and practicality when advising clients on options and next steps.
Kershaw’s professional footprint is rooted in Michigan. He maintains active practice there and handles matters that arise in state forums. His work reflects familiarity with local procedures and the expectations of Michigan courts. He also draws on his undergraduate study of Spanish when language and cultural awareness are relevant to client needs.
Outside of case files he has participated in the routine tasks that keep a small firm running: intake, staffing decisions, and coordinating with outside vendors. Those responsibilities have tightened the connection between the practice’s finances and its service delivery. He has overseen efforts to streamline operations while sustaining a workload that includes direct representation.
Today Joel Kershaw continues to practice law in Michigan through his roles at Kershaw, Vititoe & Jedinak, PLC and Kershaw Legal Services, PLLC. He currently practices law in Michigan through his roles at Kershaw, Vititoe & Jedinak, PLC and Kershaw Legal Services, PLLC.
