About Joe
Joe Waechter began his academic path at the University of Florida, where he earned a B.A. in Economics in 2006. He stayed in the Sunshine State for law school and received his J.D. from Florida State University College of Law in 2011. Those years laid a foundation in both analytic thinking and legal reasoning that would shape his early career.
While still in law school and immediately after graduation, Waechter moved through a series of practical positions that exposed him to courtroom work and firm practice. In 2010 he served as a law clerk at James, Hoyer, Newcomer, Smiljanich, & Yanchunis, P.A., gaining hands-on experience in case preparation. He then clerked in 2011 for Steven A. Anderson, P.L., where he continued to refine legal research and drafting skills. That same year he took a role as a lawyer at Morgan & Morgan, making the transition from clerk to litigator.
Those early roles covered a range of tasks. As a clerk he supported attorneys with discovery, motion drafting, and trial preparation. As an associate, he moved into client-facing work and courtroom responsibilities. Colleagues and supervisors who worked alongside him noted his methodical approach to legal questions and a steady handling of deadlines and filings.
Waechter maintains professional affiliations outside his firm. He is a member of the American Bar Association and retains active contact with peers through that organization. Membership in professional groups has given him access to continuing legal education and forums on evolving case law, which he has used to inform his practice.
At Morgan & Morgan Waechter has been part of a larger trial firm environment since 2011. His practice has involved litigation tasks across the life cycle of a case, from pleadings through hearings and trial work. He has worked on matters that require coordination among teams and clear communication with clients about court processes and timelines.
He balances litigating duties with client counseling and courtroom preparation. His day-to-day work involves drafting pleadings, managing discovery, and appearing in court. He currently practices at Morgan & Morgan, where his work centers on litigation and client representation.
