About Joe

Joe Vito built his legal foundation at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign and completed his law degree at Chicago-Kent College of Law. He studied amid the wide academic resources of both institutions. The combination of a public university undergraduate education and a J.D. from a Chicago law school shaped his early view of law as a practical profession tied to community needs.

He was admitted to the Illinois bar in 2004 and has practiced in the state ever since. Over the years he moved through private practice roles and local involvement that connected courtroom work to municipal concerns. In 2022 he became a partner at Vito & Dollenmaier Law, a position that formalized his leadership role at the firm and placed him at the center of case strategy and firm administration.

Vito’s professional affiliations reflect an emphasis on trial practice and local civic engagement. He is a member of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association and has belonged to the State Bar of Illinois since 2004. He sits on the board of the Greater Wheeling Area Chamber of Commerce, having served previously as the chamber’s president. He is a current member of the Northwest Suburban Bar Association and served on its Board of Governors and as chair of the Civil Litigation Committee. Locally, he serves as a trustee for the Village of Wheeling, a role that keeps him tied to municipal policy questions and the concerns of area residents.

These associations have informed his courtroom work. He concentrates on civil litigation and trial matters, drawing on experience in contested proceedings and pretrial practice. His background includes courtroom appearances and work on motions and case preparation. Colleagues describe his practice as steady and results-oriented; clients see a lawyer who works through the detail of a case and brings contested matters to resolution when needed.

At Vito & Dollenmaier Law he oversees a range of litigation files and contributes to firm governance. He balances casework with his community roles in Wheeling and the chamber of commerce. His calendar reflects trial dates, client conferences, and municipal meetings, and he splits his time between courtroom responsibilities and civic service.

He continues to practice in Illinois, maintaining active bar membership and participating in professional programs and local governance. His current practice focuses on civil litigation and trial representation in Illinois courts.
