About Joe
Joe Culik studied at Oakland University before earning his law degree from Michigan State University College of Law. He built a foundation in legal writing and analysis while in school, and those skills inform the way he approaches complex disputes today. He balances attention to detail with an eye for practical outcomes.
He is admitted to practice in both Massachusetts and North Carolina. Beyond state licensure, Culik holds admissions to several federal courts, including the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First and Fourth Circuits and multiple U.S. District Courts in Massachusetts and North Carolina. Those credentials allow him to handle matters across state lines and in federal forums.
Culik is a member of numerous professional associations. He serves as chairman of the Lawyer Referral Service Committee of Mecklenburg. He also maintains memberships in the Mecklenburg County Bar Association and in several sections of the Mecklenburg Bar Association, including the Business Law and Civil Litigation sections. At the state level he participates in the North Carolina Bar Association’s Business Law, Litigation, and Antitrust & Complex Business Disputes sections. Nationally, he is active in the American Bar Association’s Forum on Franchising.
The combination of bar admissions and association work reflects an interest in business-related litigation and franchise matters. He works on disputes that range from contract and commercial litigation to antitrust and complex business conflicts. Culik’s courtroom admissions in both the First and Fourth Circuits enable him to pursue appeals when trial-level resolution proves insufficient.
Local involvement is part of his professional life. He engages with the Matthews Chamber of Commerce and other community organizations. That local presence supports a practice that handles both regional business disputes and matters that require federal court experience.
He practices at Dye Culik PC, where he handles civil litigation and business-related legal matters. His work combines courtroom advocacy, case management, and participation in bar activities that shape practice areas such as franchising and complex business disputes. He currently focuses his practice on business and civil litigation, including franchising and complex business disputes.
