About Jo Anna

Jo Anna Tatarko is an attorney specializing in workers' compensation law — She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Akron School of Law in 2007. That same year, she joined Dworken & Bernstein Co., L.P.A., a prominent law firm located in Painesville, Ohio. At Dworken & Bernstein, Jo initially focused on representing individuals injured at work. Her cases often involved handling the requirements of the Industrial Commission of Ohio and litigating in Common Pleas courts. As her career progressed, Jo's practice expanded significantly — She began to handle a broader range of legal issues, including commercial litigation. This encompassed various types of disputes—ranging from breach of contract and lease disputes to construction conflicts and business disputes.

Her ability to adapt and grow within the legal field has made her a versatile attorney, capable of addressing diverse client needs. In addition to her legal practice, Jo has demonstrated a strong commitment to community service. In 2017, she was appointed to the Board of Trustees for the Lake County Committee on Family Violence, commonly known as Forbes House. Her dedication to this cause was evident during her tenure as Secretary from 2020 to 2023, where she played a vital role in supporting victims of domestic violence and advocating for community awareness. Jo is also an active member of several professional organizations, which enrich her legal expertise and network. She is involved with the Ohio State Bar Association, the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, and the Lake County Bar Association.

Her professional achievements have not gone unnoticed; she was recognized by Super Lawyers, earning the Rising Star designation in 2013. Furthermore, she has been selected as a Super Lawyer from 2024 to 2026, underscoring her reputation in the legal community. In 2022, Jo transitioned to Perez Morris, a law firm based in Cleveland, Ohio. There, she continues to focus on employment defense, financial services litigation, probate litigation, and business litigation. Jo has been admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio since 2015.

She gained admission to the Southern District of Ohio and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit in 2023. Outside of her professional commitments, Jo resides in Chesterland, Ohio, with her family. She enjoys Cleveland's vibrant cultural and culinary scene, particularly attending performances by the Cleveland Orchestra, further enriching her connection to the community she serves.
