About Jing
Jing Peng earned her Juris Doctor from Chicago-Kent College of Law at the Illinois Institute of Technology, completing her legal studies in 2014. She moved from classroom to courtroom and clinic settings while at law school, developing an early interest in immigration law and regulatory work. Her legal training provided a foundation in statutory interpretation and procedural practice that she carried into her early career.
After passing the Illinois bar in 2014, Peng joined Atom Law Group as an associate in 2015. She returned to Atom on a contract basis in 2017, and that year also took on an associate role at Becker & Lee LLP. These early positions exposed her to the practical demands of client representation and case preparation. By 2018 she had joined Weaver Schlenger LLP as an associate, then spent a year with Fragomen in 2019 before returning to Weaver Schlenger in 2020. Each move broadened her exposure to the administrative and client-facing aspects of immigration practice.
Peng later worked as an associate at ImmiPartner in 2022. Her path led to a partnership role in 2023 when she became lawyer and partner at Scullion & Peng Law Group. The sequence of positions shows steady progression from associate roles to a leadership position in a firm she now co-helps manage. Her professional timeline includes both firm-side and contract engagements, giving her experience in different practice settings and organizational structures.
She is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, a professional community she joined in 2018 and remains part of. Peng holds membership in the State Bar of Illinois since 2014 and was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2017. Those dual-state admissions have allowed her to handle matters that span clients and legal issues in both jurisdictions.
Colleagues describe Peng as methodical and attentive to procedural detail. She is known for careful file preparation and for guiding clients through often complex administrative steps. Her work has involved petitions and applications that require coordination with agencies and counsel, and she is experienced in client counseling and case management.
Outside courtroom filings and agency submissions, Peng’s career reflects steady movement through immigration practice environments of varying size and scope. She joined Scullion & Peng Law Group as partner in 2023 and now shares responsibility for case strategy and client intake. She currently practices in immigration law, handling petitions, applications, and related compliance matters.
