About Jimmy
Jimmy Sherris trained first as a political scientist and urban planner before turning to law. He earned a B.A. in Political Science and an M.A. in Urban & Regional Planning from the University of Florida. He then completed his J.D. at Barry University Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law. That combination of studies gave him both a grounding in public policy and a legal education.
He began practicing law in Florida in 2005. Since that year he has been associated with Sherris Legal PA. He maintains professional ties in the region and has been a member of the Orange County Bar Association since 2004.
Sherris’s academic background in planning and political science has informed his perspective as a lawyer. It gives him familiarity with the intersections of local government, regulatory frameworks, and statutory processes. Over the course of his career he has worked in contexts where those issues are relevant, drawing on both legal training and prior graduate-level study.
Colleagues and local peers know him for steady courtroom work and for handling a range of matters at the state level in Florida. He has handled cases and client matters through his own practice office, and he keeps current with developments in Florida law through his bar and county bar association memberships.
He continues to practice from his office at Sherris Legal PA. He now serves clients across Florida and manages matters that arise under Florida law. He currently concentrates his practice on legal matters handled through Sherris Legal PA in Florida.
