About Jill Robb

Jill Robb Ackerman earned her J.D. from Creighton University School of Law in 1981. Her legal education was completed in Omaha, where she began building the foundation for a career concentrated on courtroom work and complex civil disputes.

Three years after law school, she served as a law clerk for the United States District Court for the District of Nebraska in 1984. That early experience inside the federal courthouse offered a close view of judicial decision-making and trial procedure. It also shaped how she approaches litigation strategy and case preparation.

She joined Baird Holm LLP and has served as Chair of the Litigation Section since 1986. In that role she has overseen litigation teams, coordinated trial preparations, and managed the practice group's caseload. Her position requires both case work and administrative oversight; she balances client advocacy with the demands of running a sizable litigation practice.

Her work draws on courtroom experience and the perspective she gained from the federal clerkship. She regularly handles matters that move toward trial and oversees discovery, motion practice, and trial strategy. Colleagues describe her as steady under pressure and practical in courtroom settings. She mentors junior attorneys and takes part in internal training on litigation tactics and trial advocacy.

In day-to-day practice she divides time between client representation and leadership duties at the firm. She has practiced in Nebraska courts and in federal district court, and she remains active in managing significant civil matters handled by the litigation section of her firm. Her current practice focuses on trial litigation and the management of complex civil cases.
