About Jill
Jill Diamond built a path that crosses law and public health. She earned a B.A. from Colby College in 2001, completed her J.D. at Cornell Law School in 2008, and later added an M.P.H. from San Jose State University in 2015. Those credentials reflect a mix of liberal arts, rigorous legal training, and graduate study in health policy and public health.
After law school, Diamond pursued a career in California law. She is licensed to practice in California and maintains membership in the California Lawyers Association’s Labor and Employment Section. Over the years she has shown an interest in issues that often sit at the intersection of workplace practices and regulatory standards. Her public health training informs how she views employer obligations and workplace conditions.
Diamond serves as Of Counsel at Ottinger Employment Lawyers. In that role she works alongside litigators and advocates who handle employment-related matters. Her title signals experience and seniority; she provides counsel on legal strategy, case assessment, and the practical application of employment statutes. Colleagues describe her as someone who brings careful analysis to complex factual records and statutory questions.
Her background allows her to move between different kinds of work. She engages in case review, legal research, drafting, and advising on procedural steps. She also takes part in client conversations about risk and remedy. Her training in public health gives her an added perspective when workplace safety or health-related policies are at issue. She places equal emphasis on understanding factual context and on applying statutory frameworks.
Outside the office, Diamond participates in the professional community through the California Lawyers Association and stays current on developments in labor and employment law. She values continuing legal education and contributes to internal firm discussions on strategy and case management. Her professional record shows steady involvement in the field rather than a string of media-facing appearances or public awards.
She remains based in California and continues to work within the labor and employment area at Ottinger Employment Lawyers, where her current practice focuses on employment law matters in the state of California.
