About Jessie

Jessie Ho brings an uncommon blend of law, library science and humanities to her legal work. She studied first at National Taiwan University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature in 1981. She continued her academic path in the United States, completing a Master of Library Science at the University of Maryland in 1984 and a Juris Doctor at Peninsula University College of Law in 1989. Those academic steps reflect a steady movement from textual study to information management and then to the law.

Her education covers different environments and disciplines. The BA emphasized language and critical reading. The MLS conferred formal training in cataloging, research systems and information stewardship. The JD added training in legal analysis and advocacy. Taken together, the degrees point to an attorney who is comfortable with detailed research and complex documentary records.

After finishing law school in 1989, she began a legal career that drew on her earlier training in information work. Her background in library science influenced how she approaches discovery, document organization and evidence. She has employed research methods familiar to librarians to support case preparation and statutory interpretation. Colleagues describe those habits as systematic and thorough rather than flashy.

Her practice has gravitated toward matters that sit at the intersection of information and law. That includes issues such as records management, access to information, regulatory compliance and copyright-related questions. She also applies the analytical skills from her literature studies when drafting briefs and interpreting statutory language. The mix of disciplines equips her to address disputes and regulatory questions that require careful document analysis and an understanding of how information flows through institutions.

Outside the courtroom, her combination of degrees positions her to advise organizations on policy and procedures for handling records, requests for information and privacy safeguards. She brings experience in structured research and information organization to client work. Her current practice is centered on legal issues involving information management, copyright and privacy.
