About Jessica Hensley
Jessica Hensley Sendek built a legal foundation at two well-regarded schools. She earned a B.S. in Economics and Psychology from the University of Michigan in 2004 and her J.D. from the University of Notre Dame Law School in 2007. Those years laid the groundwork for a career that has moved between public service and private practice.
Early in her career she served as a law clerk at the Illinois Attorney General's office in 2004 and at the Cook County Public Guardian in 2005. Those positions brought day-to-day experience in public-sector legal work and exposure to litigation and client advocacy in institutional settings.
After law school she continued to build practical experience in the courtroom and in client counseling. In 2015 she joined the Pro Bono Network as a volunteer lawyer, taking on cases that expanded her direct client work. By 2018 she was working at Botti Marinaccio - Lawyers at Law as a family law attorney, where she handled family law matters and helped clients navigate the legal process.
In 2021 she founded Hensley Sendek Law, LLC. The firm reflects a move toward independent practice and offers a setting to manage cases end to end. Her practice integrates work on family law matters and issues that involve financial analysis and dispute resolution.
Her memberships track those professional interests. She is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the DuPage County Bar Association’s Family Law Section. She also belongs to the American Academy of Certified Financial Litigators and continues to volunteer through the Pro Bono Network. Those affiliations connect her to peers who handle family law and financial litigation questions.
Jessica Hensley Sendek is licensed to practice in Illinois. Her background spans public clerkships, pro bono work, firm-level family law practice, and running a small firm. The variety of roles has given her experience in courtroom work, client counseling, and the financial aspects that often arise in family disputes.
She currently concentrates her practice on family law and financial issues that arise in family disputes.
