About Jessica E
Jessica E Sindel combines courtroom experience, child advocacy and alternative dispute skills into a practice that sits squarely in family law. She earned her J.D. from Saint Louis University School of Law in 2013 after completing a master’s degree in education at Saint Louis University in 2006 and a B.A. in English and Communication Studies at the University of Iowa in 2000. In 2023 she added a certification from the Collaborative Divorce Institute.
Her early work centered on children's issues. In 2013 she served as a child advocacy specialist and child advocacy lawyer with Voices of the Children in the Greater St. Louis area. That role placed her in contact with families, courts and social service providers and shaped her approach to cases involving custody and the welfare of minors. In 2015 she served as a VISTA lawyer through AmeriCorps, a post that involved community-based legal work and public service projects.
Sindel moved into private practice after those public service roles. She worked as a solo practitioner in 2016 and then joined Chicago Family Law Group, LLC as an associate in 2017. She later became an associate and senior associate lawyer at Anderson Boback & Marshall in 2019, and was named partner at the firm in 2022. Her professional memberships include a fellowship with Collaborate Divorce Illinois, beginning in 2023, and other memberships that date back to 2016.
Her portfolio includes contested matters and cases resolved outside the courtroom. She handles divorce proceedings, custody and visitation disputes, and related family law issues. She also accepts matters that call for collaborative processes; her 2023 certification speaks to training in that area. Past roles in child advocacy inform how she approaches cases involving children's needs and court-appointed representation.
Colleagues and clients have encountered her in both negotiation settings and formal hearings. She has experience drafting agreements, preparing cases for trial and working with multidisciplinary teams. That combination allows her to move between settlement-driven sessions and litigation when the facts require it.
Sindel is licensed to practice in Illinois and Missouri and maintains an office at Anderson Boback & Marshall. Her practice centers on family law, collaborative divorce and child advocacy, and she remains active in professional circles that address those subjects.
