About Jesse E Guerra
Jesse E Guerra Jr. moves easily between courtrooms and organizational boards. He combines formal training in communication and law with experience in both nonprofit counsel work and private practice. Colleagues describe him as approachable in person and thorough on paper.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Communication from The University of Texas at Austin. He then completed a Juris Doctor at the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law at Arizona State University. While at law school he developed an interest in dispute resolution and later obtained a mediation certification from the University of Texas Austin College of Law.
Guerra's early professional work included serving as legal counsel for the National Drowning Prevention Association. In that role he handled the association’s legal needs and supported its organizational efforts. He later established The J. Guerra Law Office, where he works as a lawyer and manages client matters in a small firm setting.
He holds bar admissions in Arizona, Texas and Illinois, and is admitted to practice before several federal courts in Texas, including the Western, Southern, Eastern and Northern Districts. Those admissions allow him to pursue cases in both state and federal forums. He maintains memberships in multiple professional groups: the American Association for Justice, the Illinois Bar Association, the Arizona Bar Association, the Texas Bar Association, the Corpus Christi and San Antonio bar associations, and both the Texas and San Antonio Trial Lawyers Associations.
Guerra's mediation certification complements his courtroom work and his association memberships reflect regular engagement with trial practice communities. He handles procedural and evidentiary matters, prepares filings for state and federal dockets, and participates in negotiated resolutions where appropriate. His practice combines litigation skills with alternative dispute resolution training, and he applies those tools to the matters that come through The J. Guerra Law Office.
He works from The J. Guerra Law Office and appears in courts across the jurisdictions where he is admitted. His current practice centers on litigation and alternative dispute resolution.
