About Jerry D.
Jerry D. Andrews built his legal foundation at the University of Texas at Austin, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1988. He continued his studies at the University of Houston Law Center and received his J.D. in 1991. Those years set the stage for a steady, practice-focused career in Texas courts.
He entered private practice immediately after law school, joining Otstott & Andrews in 1991 as an associate. The firm provided an early platform for courtroom experience and client work. Five years later he became a partner at Otstott & Andrews, a step that brought greater responsibility for case strategy and client relationships. In 1999 he established his own firm, Jerry D. Andrews, P.C., and took on the role of managing partner.
As managing partner, Andrews oversees the firm’s daily operations and supervises legal work. That role has required him to split time between direct client representation and administrative duties. He has handled case preparation, filings and coordination with co-counsel and court personnel. Over the years he has managed teams of attorneys and support staff while guiding the firm’s approach to litigation and client servicing.
Andrews is licensed to practice in the State of Texas and before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas. He maintains an active membership in the State Bar of Texas. Those credentials reflect steady attachment to the Texas legal community and regular work in both state and federal settings.
His career path shows a progression from associate to partner to firm leader. That arc brought a broad exposure to the practical demands of a law practice. He has experience overseeing pleadings, discovery and motion practice, and he has worked on matters that required coordination across court calendars and procedural rules.
Colleagues describe him as someone who prefers direct, practical work over theory. He has spent much of his professional life in a hands-on role, handling filings, client consultations and courtroom appearances when required. At the same time he has carried the managerial responsibility of keeping a small firm organized and responsive to client needs.
Today Jerry D. Andrews serves as the managing partner of Jerry D. Andrews, P.C., where he continues to represent clients in matters filed in Texas courts and in the Northern District of Texas federal court. His current practice focuses on providing representation and managing litigation and case administration for the firm.
