About Jerrell R

Jerrell R Johnson began a path from psychology to law that took more than a decade to complete. He earned a B.A. in Psychology from Mount Olive College in 1990. After time spent outside the academy, he returned to study law and received his J.D. from Regent University School of Law in 2004. Those two degrees frame a professional life that blends understanding of people with courtroom procedure.

He gained an official foothold in Virginia's legal community in 2008 when he became a member of the Virginia Supreme Court bar. That membership marks his standing to practice in Virginia state courts. Since that time he has maintained an active presence in the state's legal circles while building a small-firm practice.

Johnson's career includes roles beyond the office. He has served on nonprofit boards and kept steady involvement in community organizations. He joined the board of The End of Watch Foundation in 2012 and has served on the board of Danield s Grace since 2014. He also holds membership in the Florian Foundation. Those positions reflect an interest in causes outside purely commercial legal work and a pattern of sustained civic engagement.

In the office, colleagues describe a straightforward approach. He applies legal training to client problems, explains options, and guides cases through the steps required by Virginia courts. His education in psychology shows up in how he prepares witnesses and frames factual narratives, while his law training provides the rule-based backbone. He has practiced in Virginia courts for years and retains the procedural knowledge that comes with repeated litigation and client counseling.

Today he operates from JRLaw, PLC. He handles matters arising under Virginia law and works directly with clients who need representation in state court proceedings. He continues active membership in the Virginia Supreme Court bar and remains engaged in the nonprofit boards he joined earlier, balancing private practice with community involvement.

His current practice focuses on representing clients in Virginia state courts.
