About Jeremy
Jeremy Angenend is admitted to practice in New Mexico and before the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. He has built a practice that spans state and federal matters, drawing on the procedural and substantive demands of both trial and appellate work. Colleagues describe him as methodical in approach and direct in court filings.
He began his legal career after completing the necessary professional training and bar admission steps required to practice in New Mexico and the Tenth Circuit. Early in his career he worked on matters that required coordination between state court proceedings and federal appellate filings, which shaped his understanding of how cases evolve through different levels of the judiciary. Over time he moved into roles that combined courtroom work with deeper motion practice and written advocacy.
Throughout his career he has maintained memberships in professional associations that support continuing legal education and rules developments. Those memberships have kept him connected to changes in appellate practice and case law across the Tenth Circuit states. He is comfortable drafting appellate briefs and responding to complex procedural questions that arise when state and federal matters overlap.
Angenend is an attorney at Hinkle Shanor LLP. At the firm he handles litigation that arises in New Mexico alongside matters that proceed to the Tenth Circuit. His work requires attention to deadlines, clear legal writing, and the ability to present legal arguments in both written and oral form. He collaborates with colleagues on strategy and client counseling, and he prepares filings for trial courts as well as for appellate review.
Outside of court papers, he engages in the research and preparation that underpins appellate strategy. He assesses record issues, frames legal questions for review, and develops arguments that respond to the particular standards of appellate courts. His practice reflects familiarity with New Mexico statutes and procedural rules, as well as the federal rules that govern appeals in the Tenth Circuit.
He is currently based at Hinkle Shanor LLP and continues to represent clients in state and federal litigation and appeals. His current practice focuses on litigation and appellate matters in New Mexico and before the Tenth Circuit.
