About Jenny L.

Jenny L. Paquette is an attorney who has built a practice around civil litigation in California and in federal court. She works at Kessler Topaz Meltzer Check LLP, where she handles matters that proceed in state and federal forums. Her work requires regular appearances in district courts across the state, and she is admitted to the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Central and Southern Districts of California as well as to the California bar.

She earned her Juris Doctor at Temple University Beasley School of Law. During law school she completed the Trial Advocacy program, a course that combined classroom instruction with simulated courtroom experience. That training gave her early exposure to trial procedures, witness examination and courtroom presentation. It also offered repeated opportunities to argue motions and conduct mock trials before faculty and practicing lawyers.

After law school she moved into litigation practice. Over time she developed practical experience managing pleadings, discovery and motion practice in complex cases. Her federal admissions allow her to file and argue cases in the federal district courts that cover the major population centers of California. She is comfortable working on matters that require coordination across multiple jurisdictions and that involve extensive motion work and case management.

Colleagues describe Paquette as methodical in preparing for hearings and trials. She takes a hands-on approach to drafting briefs and exhibits, and she commonly works on litigation teams that include partners, associates and outside experts. Her background in trial advocacy shows through in the way she structures witness examinations and prepares trial materials. In court she focuses on clear, organized presentation rather than theatrical flourishes.

At Kessler Topaz Meltzer Check LLP she continues to practice civil litigation, regularly appearing in state and federal courts in California. Her current practice centers on handling litigation matters that proceed through dispositive motion practice and trial preparation in both federal and state settings.
