Jennifer Lynn Sheridan is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. She was admitted to the California State Bar on December 14, 1993,. Her license is currently in active status. Ms. Sheridan is the founder and principal of JLSheridan Law, a boutique law firm located in Sacramento, California. The firm specializes in technology transactions, intellectual property counseling, and data privacy compliance. Ms. Sheridan has been practicing law for over twenty years, serving clients throughout the Silicon Valley and Sacramento areas.

Ms. Sheridan earned her Juris Doctor degree from Columbia Law School, where she graduated as a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar. She also holds a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy at Tufts University, a Master of Management degree from Mills College, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Diplomacy and World Affairs from Occidental College. During her time at Columbia Law School, she was recognized for her academic excellence and commitment to the legal profession.

Ms. Sheridan concentrates her practice in the areas of technology transactions, intellectual property law, and data privacy compliance. She represents individuals and businesses in matters involving software licensing, mergers and acquisitions, and compliance with data protection regulations. Her practice encompasses all stages of legal work, including contract negotiations, litigation, and regulatory compliance. She has successfully led complex negotiations of strategic license agreements, partnering agreements, mergers and acquisitions, and financings, as well as favorably resolved commercial and patent litigation.

Throughout her career, Ms. Sheridan has handled cases in various courts, including the Superior Court of California for the County of Sacramento and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California. Prior to founding her own firm, she served as General Counsel and Secretary of a publicly traded software company, Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary of a privately held technology company, and as a corporate associate at Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison in Palo Alto and Simpson Thacher & Bartlett in New York City. She has also taught technology transactions at Santa Clara University School of Law and served as a visiting law professor at the University of Tennessee Knoxville and Drexel Law School in Philadelphia.

Ms. Sheridan is an active member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), holding the Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US) certification. She is also the founder of StartUp Law Bootcamp, a training platform for technology attorneys, and StartUp Law Forum, a knowledge and networking community for technology attorneys. She has been involved in various community initiatives and is committed to advancing the legal profession through education and mentorship.
