About Jennifer Lynn

Jennifer Lynn Gross earned her law degree from Wayne State University Law School in 2012 after completing a Bachelor of Arts in Finance at Wayne State in 2007. She remained tied to the Detroit-area campus through both degrees, combining legal study with a grounding in financial concepts. Her academic path put technical and practical disciplines side by side.

After completing law school, Gross entered private practice and is licensed to practice in Michigan. She joined Cooper & Riesterer PLC, where she has handled a range of client matters at the state level. Her career has been built on translating academic training into daily legal work. That practical turn from classroom to case files characterizes how she approaches client problems.

Gross’s undergraduate background in finance informs much of her approach to legal questions. She tends to frame disputes and transactions in terms of risk and numbers, as well as precedent and procedure. Colleagues describe her as methodical; she breaks complex issues into component parts and addresses each in sequence. That methodical style shows up in drafting, in client counseling, and in preparing matters for hearing.

In the office she spends time analyzing documents, advising clients on options, and preparing filings that reflect both legal argument and factual context. She balances close attention to statutory and case law with attention to the practical consequences of different strategies. Clients who need explanations of contractual terms or who face business decisions that hinge on legal outcomes find that background helpful.

Her work at Cooper & Riesterer PLC involves representation in Michigan forums and collaborative case management with other attorneys at the firm. Gross navigates procedural deadlines, discovery processes, and settlement discussions as part of everyday practice. She also keeps an eye on the financial implications of litigation and transactions, drawing on her earlier studies in finance to assess damages, valuation questions, and cost-benefit tradeoffs for clients.

Outside the courtroom and conference room she has remained connected to the legal community in Michigan through professional relationships built over years of practice. She continues to refine the interplay between legal analysis and business concerns as part of her routine work. She currently focuses her practice on matters that combine legal analysis and financial understanding.
