About Jennifer L
Jennifer L Martinez earned her J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2005. She completed law school at a time when the local legal market was changing quickly. Those early years shaped how she approaches practice today.
She joined Jampol Zimet Skane Wilcox as a lawyer in 2006, beginning her career in a firm known for handling contested matters. In 2010 she moved to Skane Wilcox, LLP, where she expanded her courtroom and trial experience. Four years later she became a partner at Martinez & Schill LLP, a firm where she has worked since 2014.
Her professional path shows steady progression from associate roles into firm leadership. She has maintained an active presence in California courts since her admission to the State Bar in 2006. Colleagues describe her as methodical; she prepares cases in a way that leaves little to chance. She has handled a range of client matters across different stages of litigation.
Martinez has been involved in several professional organizations that reflect her interests and the communities she serves. She has been a member of the San Diego County Bar Association since 2008 and joined the Lawyers Club and the Consumer Lawyers of San Diego in 2014. Since 2012 she has served as a barrister in the Hon. J. Clifford Wallace American Inn of Court, an association that brings judges and lawyers together to discuss practice and ethics.
Her practice operates out of offices in San Diego and Riverside. That geographic spread allows her to work on matters across Southern California. It also means she is familiar with the different local rules and courtroom cultures found in those counties.
Martinez's work balances litigation tasks in the office with courtroom appearances. She prepares pleadings, examines witnesses, and argues motions when cases demand it. Outside of direct representation she contributes to professional dialogues through her Inn of Court involvement and her memberships in local bar groups.
She remains an active member of the State Bar of California and maintains her practice as a partner at Martinez & Schill LLP. She represents clients in matters before California state courts, including consumer-related claims, and practices from the firm’s San Diego and Riverside offices.
