About Jennifer C
Jennifer C Watkins built her legal foundation in the classroom. She earned a B.S. from Queens University in 1994 and completed her J.D. at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 1999. Those years framed her interest in criminal justice and victim advocacy and set the stage for the career that followed.
Her first work in the field came soon after law school. In 1997 she served as a victim advocate at Women in Crisis and within the Jefferson County Colorado District Attorney’s Office. That role placed her at the intersection of legal process and community support. She moved into public defense in 2000, working for the Colorado Office of the Public Defender. There she handled client representation in court and learned the rhythms of trial practice. In 2001 she opened Watkins Law Office and began private practice.
