About Jen
Jen Hanna built her legal foundation at the University of Michigan, where she completed undergraduate studies in 2003. She returned to the Midwest for law school and earned a J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 2010. Those years shaped a pragmatic approach to public-interest work and client service.
Her professional path began immediately after law school. She worked as an associate at Wren & Gateways Law Group in 2010. A year later she opened Hanna Legal, LLC, taking on a mix of client work and community cases. By 2014 she was part of Holevoet & Hanna, LLC, and in 2017 records show her serving as a lawyer at Eastbridge Law Group, LLP. The sequence of roles shows steady movement between small firm practice and solo or partnership arrangements, common among attorneys who balance paid work and volunteer commitments.
Hanna’s memberships underline the issues that have occupied her practice. She has been affiliated with the National LGBT Bar Association since 2010 and joined the National Lawyers Guild and its National Immigration Project in 2012. Her involvement with the Modest Means Program, beginning in 2011, points to a record of serving clients who need affordable legal help. She also volunteers with Wills for Heroes and holds membership in the Legal Association for Women. Those affiliations reflect both professional networks and civic engagement.
Her work spans several areas suggested by those associations. She handles immigration-related matters and accepts cases that touch on LGBT legal issues. She also provides basic estate and will services and has volunteered for programs that prepare wills for first responders. Much of her practice includes work on limited-fee or modest-means matters, and she has combined paid representation with pro bono assignments.
Hanna practices in Wisconsin and has spent her career within that jurisdiction. Her record shows experience in small firm settings and in practice arrangements that permit community-oriented work. She continues to represent clients in immigration, LGBT-related matters, and estate planning, including low-cost and volunteer services for those who need them.
