About Jeffrey P.

Jeffrey P. Schultz grew up thinking about the practical side of problems. He carried that interest into law school and into practice. He works in Des Moines and is admitted to practice in both Iowa and Wisconsin.

He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater in 2010. He then enrolled at Drake University Law School and earned his J.D. in 2014. Those years in Iowa shaped his early professional network and led to memberships in local and state bar groups.

Soon after finishing law school, Schultz began participating in the legal community in Polk County. He has held membership in the Polk County Bar since 2014. He also joined the Iowa Association for Justice and the Iowa Bar Association that same year. The memberships have kept him connected to colleagues across the state and provided access to continuing legal education and local bar activities.

In 2018 he took a position as an associate lawyer with Hupy and Abraham, S.C., P.C. He spent his time there handling the responsibilities typical of an associate: preparing case materials, aiding in client intake, conducting research and assisting in motion practice. The role offered him exposure to firm operations and courtroom procedure, and it added practical experience to his classroom training.

Colleagues describe him as steady and practical in approach. He favors clear organization and direct communication. He aims to lay out options plainly for clients and to keep legal processes moving. He is comfortable in the routine tasks of litigation and in the deadlines that come with active dockets.

Outside of firm responsibilities, Schultz has remained active in local legal circles through his bar memberships. He attends meetings and continuing education programs that help him stay current on procedural developments and state rules. He has maintained those ties since first joining in 2014, which has offered a steady professional network as his practice developed.

Today he practices from the Des Moines office and represents clients in matters arising in Iowa and Wisconsin. He continues to build experience in the everyday work of a trial lawyer and maintains his professional ties through the Polk County Bar and state associations.
