About Jeffrey
Jeffrey Majikas earned his J.D. from the University of Maryland - Baltimore in 1989 after completing a B.A. in Communication Arts & Sciences at Michigan State University in 1981. The academic path paired a liberal arts undergraduate education with three years of law school study that culminated at Maryland’s law campus. He entered the legal profession at a time of change for both the profession and the courts.
His early career included work at Laputka, Bayless, Ecker & Cohn P.C., where he is listed as a lawyer beginning in 1992. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and is also admitted to the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Those admissions allow him to handle matters at the trial level in Pennsylvania and to pursue appeals at the regional federal level.
Across more than three decades as a practicing attorney, Majikas has handled litigation and courtroom proceedings. He has appeared in state court and in federal matters routed through the Third Circuit. The record shows a steady practice rather than sudden shifts; his professional life has been anchored in the Pennsylvania bar and in the routines of litigation practice.
Professionally, Majikas maintains membership in the Pennsylvania State Bar. That membership keeps him plugged into the bar’s ethical and professional requirements and connects him to the legal community in the state. It also reflects a continuing presence in Pennsylvania’s legal circles since the early 1990s.
Colleagues and opposing counsel who have worked with him describe an attorney comfortable in court and familiar with the procedural demands of both state and federal practice. He combines courtroom experience with years of handling pretrial matters. Over time he has built practice patterns that fit a steady litigation caseload rather than a transactional or boutique specialty.
He continues to practice at Laputka, Bayless, Ecker & Cohn P.C., handling matters in Pennsylvania state courts and federal matters in the Third Circuit.
