About Jeffrey L.
Jeffrey L. Hill has practiced law in Colorado for decades. He earned a B.A. in history from Tulane University in 1974 and returned to New Orleans to complete a J.D. at Loyola University New Orleans in 1978. Those two degrees set the stage for a long legal career that has combined private practice and service in the bankruptcy system.
Hill was admitted to the bar in 1978. That same year he established his own practice, operating under his name in various forms, including Jeffrey L. Hill, P.C. He has maintained membership in the Colorado Bar Association since 1978, a steady professional affiliation that runs alongside his private work.
A significant chapter in his career began in 1987, when he was appointed a Panel Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Trustee for Region 19 of the District of Colorado. In that role he oversaw liquidation cases, administered estate assets and worked with creditors and debtors on claims and distributions. The trustee post placed him regularly in federal bankruptcy court and required familiarity with the procedural and substantive rules that govern Chapter 7 administration.
Over the years Hill has divided his time between representing clients in his own office and carrying out trustee duties. His practice records show long experience in matters that touch on bankruptcy law, estate administration in bankruptcy, and the array of creditor-debtor disputes that arise around insolvency. He has handled the kinds of case work that demand attention to deadlines, detailed accounting and negotiations over the resolution of claims.
Colleagues and court records alike reflect someone who has worked in the same region for many years. He has kept an active presence in the Colorado Bar Association, where continuous membership since 1978 suggests an ongoing engagement with the local legal community. Hill’s practice has been small-firm and practitioner-oriented, organized around direct client contact and participation in the bankruptcy process as both advocate and trustee.
As of 2026 he practices from the Law Office of Jeffrey Hill. He continues to accept bankruptcy-related matters and to serve in roles that require administration of Chapter 7 estates and related civil work in the federal courts in Colorado.
