Miller earned his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from New York University School of Law in 1984. Prior to his legal education, he graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Religion from Harvard University in 1980.

During the same year, he broadened his horizons by studying at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand, as a Rotary Fellow. This diverse educational background has contributed to his analytical skills and understanding of complex human issues, which are essential in his legal practice. His caseload primarily consists of representing clients in trucking accidents, medical malpractice, legal malpractice, and nursing home litigation. Over the course of his career, Miller has tried more than 50 cases to verdict. Notably, in 2005, he achieved a landmark victory in a psychiatric malpractice case that resulted in a $28 million verdict—the highest civil verdict in Arizona at that time.

Such accomplishments underscore his commitment to securing justice for his clients and highlight his expertise in navigating the details of the legal system. Before joining Miller Kory Rowe LLP, Miller was a partner at Roush, McCracken, Guerrero, Miller & Ortega and Jones, Skelton & Hochuli. His experience in various legal environments gave him the skills necessary to handle cases from initial filing through discovery, settlement negotiations, and, when necessary, trial. This comprehensive approach ensures that his clients receive thorough representation at every stage of their legal journey. In addition to his practice, Miller serves as an Assistant Professor of Practice at the University of Arizona College of Medicine—Phoenix.

There, he lectures on elder abuse and neglect, further demonstrating his commitment to educating future professionals on critical issues in the field. He is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Arizona Association for Justice, the Maricopa County Bar Association, and the National Citizens’ Coalition for Nursing Home Reform. Recognized as a Southwest Super Lawyer for 20 consecutive years, Miller holds an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell, reflecting his high ethical standards and legal ability.
