About Jeffrey
Jeffrey Benton built his path to law from two different coasts of training. He earned a B.S. from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in 2000 and a J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center in 2005. Those credentials set the groundwork for a practice concentrated in state and federal courts across Texas.
He was admitted to the Texas bar in 2005. He gained admission to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas in 2006 and to the Northern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas in 2007. Those admissions allow him to file cases in multiple federal forums, handling matters that progress beyond state court when necessary.
Benton practices at Benton Accident & Injury Lawyers. He represents individuals in accident and injury matters and takes cases from initial intake through litigation. The firm maintains offices in Brownsville and Fort Worth, and he regularly appears in state courts and the federal districts where he is admitted. He handles pleadings, discovery, hearings and settlement negotiations as part of the ordinary lifecycle of civil claims.
He holds memberships in bar and trial organizations that reflect an interest in courtroom procedure and civil litigation practice. He is listed as a member of the Dallas Trial Lawyers Association and the State Bar of Texas Litigation Section. Those group ties offer access to continuing legal education and to peers who litigate similar issues.
Colleagues describe his work as methodical and straightforward. He prepares cases for trial and for settlement discussions. He moves between client meetings, court appearances and file work, and aims to provide clear explanations of options and likely outcomes. Outside the office he has maintained the professional connections that keep him current on changes in Texas civil procedure and federal practice.
He continues to practice at Benton Accident & Injury Lawyers, representing clients in accident and injury matters across Texas.
