About Jeffrey
Jeffrey Antonelli is a seasoned civil litigator based in Chicago, Illinois, with nearly 25 years of experience representing both corporations and individuals in state and federal courts. He is the founder of Antonelli Law Ltd., a firm he established in 2007, which has gained national recognition for its specialized practices in BitTorrent copyright defense and Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) law. Admitted to the federal trial bar of the Northern District of Illinois, Mr. Antonelli is also authorized to practice in the federal courts of Colorado, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Michigan. His extensive litigation experience encompasses many cases, including intellectual property disputes, business conflicts, insurance matters, and consumer fraud. In addition to his litigation practice, Mr.
Antonelli has been actively involved in the UAS industry. He founded and leads the firm's Drone/UAS Practice Group, assisting companies of all sizes in handling the requirements of national airspace access, FAA approvals, and related legal challenges. His expertise in this area has positioned him as a leading figure in UAS law. Mr. Antonelli's contributions to the legal community extend beyond his practice. He has served as an adviser to the Illinois Board of Higher Education Advisory Council for Private Business and Vocational Schools and was a member of the Illinois State Bar Association Education Law Section Council from 2012 to 2013.
His commitment to education and consumer protection is further demonstrated by his representation of hundreds of students defrauded by improperly accredited educational institutions, including serving as certified class counsel. Before founding Antonelli Law Ltd., Mr. Antonelli gained experience at several litigation boutiques in Chicago's Loop and a full-service firm. He earned his Juris Doctor from DePaul College of Law, where he also obtained a certificate in health law. During law school, he interned at the American Medical Association in Chicago and at the Governmental Relations Office of the Association of American Medical Colleges in Washington, D.C., focusing on health care policy.
