About Jeffrey Andrew
Jeffrey Andrew Lefstin is a distinguished Professor of Law at UC Law SF, located in San Francisco, California. He began his tenure on the faculty in 2003, bringing with him a experience in both legal practice and academia. Before joining UC Law SF, he served as a law clerk to Judge Raymond C. Clevenger III at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. This clerkship provided him with invaluable insights into the judicial process, particularly in areas related to patent law.
Prior to his clerkship, Lefstin practiced patent and antitrust law at Townsend, Townsend & Crew, a prominent law firm in San Francisco. His scientific research has significantly contributed to the understanding of mammalian gene regulatory mechanisms and DNA-protein interactions. His findings have been published in prestigious journals, including Nature and Genes & Development, reflecting his expertise in both law and science. In addition to his academic responsibilities, Lefstin serves as an expert witness on patent law matters, providing critical insights in legal disputes.
