About Jeffrey A.
Jeffrey A. Devore has spent decades building a practice centered on immigration law. He entered the field early in his career and has held leadership roles in both his firm and professional associations. Colleagues know him for steady courtroom presence and long-term involvement in the immigration bar.
He earned a J.D. from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in 1989 after completing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at Bowling Green State University in 1986. His academic background in a technical field preceded legal study, and that combination has informed how he approaches complex regulatory issues.
Devore moved into private practice soon after law school. In 1990 he joined Devore and Devore, P.A. as a partner. Three years later he became managing partner of Devore Law Group, P.A., the firm listed as his current office. Over the years he has continued in that leadership role and overseen litigation and client work across multiple forums.
He is admitted to practice before a range of federal and state tribunals. That list includes admission in Florida and appearances before the U.S. Supreme Court, the Eleventh and Ninth Circuits, and several U.S. District Courts, including the Middle and Southern Districts of Florida, the Northern District of Texas, and the Western District of Tennessee. He also holds certification from The Florida Bar in Immigration and Nationality Law.
Professional involvement has been a visible part of his career. He has been active in the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and its South Florida chapter since the early 1990s. He served as president of the AILA South Florida Chapter in 2004–2005 and later served on the national Board of Governors from 2008 to 2011. He has been a member of the American Bar Association since 1987.
In practice he has handled a range of immigration matters, representing individuals and businesses in administrative proceedings and federal court litigation. His courtroom admissions allow him to bring challenges and appeals through district courts and circuit courts when cases require federal review. He also represents clients before administrative bodies and in petition practice.
Peers describe his approach as pragmatic; he combines courtroom experience with long-term involvement in the immigration bar. He maintains an active role at Devore Law Group, P.A., where he concentrates his practice on immigration law.
