About Jeff
Jeff Donoho built his legal identity through courtroom exposure and early work alongside judges. He arrived at law school after an undergraduate degree in journalism, and that background shows in how he frames arguments and organizes facts.
Donoho earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Law. Before law school he completed a Bachelor of Journalism at the University of Missouri–Columbia, where he emphasized advertising. The combination of legal training and a journalism education gives him a direct style. He tends to favor clear written work over puffery.
His first legal roles were in the Jackson County circuit courts. In 2010 he served as a law clerk to the Hon. Ann Mesle of the 16th Circuit Court in Jackson County, Missouri. The following year he clerked for Judge Midkiff of the same court. Those clerkships offered him daily exposure to trial procedure, evidentiary rulings and the pace of a busy state trial court.
After his time on the bench, Donoho moved into private practice. In 2016 he worked as a lawyer at Horn Aylward Bandy. That position followed his clerkships and marked a shift toward representing clients directly. During that period he handled matters that required courtroom readiness and case strategy.
Outside the office he maintains ties to the Kansas City legal community. He is a current member of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association. He also serves on the board of the Children’s Emergency Fund, where he participates in governance and fundraising for the organization’s programs. These roles keep him connected to local lawyers and community issues.
Donoho now practices at Kennyhertz Perry. He is licensed to practice in Missouri and Kansas and brings the perspective of a former judicial clerk to his representation. He is known among colleagues for concise motions, orderly trial preparation and a preference for plainspoken legal writing. Donoho’s work centers on matters that arise in Missouri and Kansas courts, where he represents clients in litigation and related proceedings.
He remains based in the Kansas City area and continues to combine courtroom experience and journalistic training in his legal work, attending to cases that require careful fact development and clear advocacy.
He currently practices at Kennyhertz Perry, handling matters that arise in Missouri and Kansas courts.
