About Jeana K.
Jeana K. Reinbold trained in Chicago and at the University of Chicago. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Chicago in 1995, then returned to the city for law school, receiving her J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2000. Her academic background married quantitative discipline and legal study, a combination that has influenced her professional path.
Soon after law school she began a practice centered on insolvency and bankruptcy matters. Over the years she has taken on increasingly complex cases and assumed leadership roles inside her firm. She is a partner at Sgro, Hanrahan, Durr, Rabin & Reinbold, LLP, where she handles matters that arise in both commercial and individual bankruptcy contexts.
Her professional affiliations reflect a steady involvement in the bankruptcy community. She holds current memberships in the American Bankruptcy Institute and the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees. She is active in the Central Illinois Women’s Bar Association and the Illinois State Bar Association. Her membership in the International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation and the American Bar Association connects her to international and national conversations about restructuring practice and policy.
Colleagues describe her approach as pragmatic. She evaluates claims and restructuring options, works with trustees and creditors, and advises clients on plan confirmation and asset disposition. She represents businesses and individuals at different stages of insolvency, from pre-filing planning to contested hearings in bankruptcy court. In court she presents legal arguments and factual analysis; outside court she negotiates with opposing counsel and stakeholders to resolve disputes when possible.
Throughout her career she has balanced case work with bar and association participation. She takes part in programs and meetings that shape practice standards and policy discussions, particularly those addressing women's roles in insolvency and restructuring. She is admitted to practice in Illinois and maintains an active role in her regional legal community. She currently concentrates her practice on bankruptcy and restructuring matters.
