About Jay A

Jay A Fleenor built a foundation in numbers before he went to law school. He earned dual bachelor’s degrees in finance and economics from the University of Kentucky, then completed his Juris Doctor at Salmon P. Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University. That combination of quantitative training and legal study shapes how he approaches cases today.

After law school he began practicing in Kentucky. His work has centered on matters that frequently end up in court. He represents clients in criminal proceedings and takes on trial work that calls for courtroom experience. His background in finance and economics informs how he evaluates evidence, assesses damages and develops trial strategies.

Fleenor maintains memberships in several professional organizations. He is a member of the Kentucky Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He also participates in the Kentucky Justice Association, the Laurel County Bar Association and the American Bar Association. These affiliations keep him connected to developments in criminal law and civil litigation practice in the state.

People who hire him should expect attention to legal detail and practical preparation for hearings and trials. He handles pretrial motions, evidentiary issues and courtroom advocacy. He also works through the procedural steps of criminal cases, from arraignment through sentencing when necessary. He often draws on his academic background when dealing with financial records or economic issues that arise in the course of litigation.

Fleenor’s practice is based at Fleenor Law Office. He works with clients across Kentucky and appears in local courts where cases require contested hearings or jury trials. He is active in the Laurel County legal community through bar association involvement and local practice.

Outside the courtroom his experience in finance and economics remains a practical asset. It helps when reviewing forensic accounting, structuring defense arguments about economic conduct or analyzing the consequences of plea offers. He combines that technical perspective with the procedural and advocacy skills gained through practice.

He continues to practice law in Kentucky at Fleenor Law Office, where his work concentrates on criminal defense and trial representation.
