About Jason W.

Jason W. Voelke combines a scientific undergraduate background with a legal education. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Ball State University before completing his J.D. at South Texas College of Law. That path gave him exposure to clinical settings and to the technical language of medicine before he ever entered a courtroom.

He moved into law after finishing his degree in Texas. Early on he joined Martin|Baughman in 2021, where he worked on matters that often involved serious physical injury and complex medical records. In 2023 he took a position at Hughes & Coleman Injury Lawyers. Those roles brought him into regular contact with treating clinicians, expert witnesses and multi-party litigation.

Voelke is admitted to practice in Kentucky, Texas and Tennessee. Those multi-jurisdictional admissions allow him to handle cases that cross state lines and to coordinate work with local counsel where appropriate. His nursing background gives him tools for reviewing medical files and asking targeted clinical questions during discovery.

Colleagues describe his approach as direct and methodical. He tends to break complicated factual and medical issues into smaller parts. That makes it easier to explain them to clients, juries and opposing counsel. He has handled client interviews, drafted pleadings, and participated in motions practice on behalf of injured parties.

His litigation work has involved depositions and strategy in injury cases. At Hughes & Coleman he continues to represent plaintiffs in personal injury matters. The firm setting places him on teams that manage deadlines, expert retention and trial preparation. He also assists in preparing exhibits and witness outlines used at hearings and trials.

Outside of court he draws on both his clinical education and his legal training when reviewing bills, medical records and expert reports. That combination can be useful in assessing causation and damages, and in framing demands for negotiation. He has worked on cases that require careful attention to the chronology of treatment and to the language of medical providers.

He remains based at Hughes & Coleman Injury Lawyers and handles cases across the jurisdictions where he is licensed. His current practice focuses on representing people injured in accidents, pursuing claims for recovery in Kentucky, Texas and Tennessee.
