About Jason R.

Jason R. Epstein began his legal path at the University of Texas at San Antonio, where he earned dual bachelor’s degrees in accounting and finance in 1985. He went on to The John Marshall Law School and completed his J.D. in 1993, concentrating in trial advocacy. Those years shaped his understanding of the numbers behind a case and the tactics needed to present those numbers persuasively to a judge or jury.

After law school he moved into courtroom practice. By 1997 he was listed as a trial lawyer at the Law Offices of Jason R. Epstein. That listing reflects an early commitment to trial work. Over time he built a practice that regularly appears in both state and federal venues.

His bar admissions include Illinois and a number of federal courts. He is admitted to practice before the Northern and Southern Districts of Illinois and the Southern District of Texas. He also holds admissions to the Fifth and Seventh Circuit federal appellate courts. Those credentials allow him to take cases at trial and pursue appeals when necessary.

Colleagues describe Epstein as a lawyer who prefers the pressure of the courtroom to the quieter parts of practice. He prepares cases with attention to detail and keeps his courtroom presentations direct. He does not shy away from evidentiary fights or jury selection. At the same time he manages the practical side of litigation: discovery, motions practice and the logistical demands of multi-district work. He blends his accounting and finance background with trial techniques learned in law school, which informs how he frames economic issues for juries and judges.

Clients have found his practice useful when cases require hands-on trial advocacy in federal or state court. He has handled matters that progressed through district courts and into the appellate circuits where he is admitted. Today he continues to practice through the Law Offices of Jason R. Epstein, handling trial litigation in federal and state courts.
