About Jason

Jason Ott took a path that paired small-town liberal arts study with a Midwestern law education. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from St. Bonaventure University before receiving his Juris Doctor from Ohio Northern University. The combination left him comfortable with both written argument and courtroom procedure.

After law school he joined Suhre & Associates as an associate. The firm name identifies itself as Chicago DUI Lawyers, and Ott arrived during a period when the firm was handling a steady flow of impaired-driving matters. His work there centers on client intake, investigative follow-up and courtroom appearances. He has handled arraignments, pretrial hearings and motions practice under the supervision of senior partners.

Colleagues describe him as exacting about procedure. He spends time on the technical pieces of a case. That includes reviewing police reports, evaluating breath and blood test results, and preparing cross-examination outlines. He also prepares written motions and briefs when the facts suggest a route other than plea negotiation.

Ott maintains memberships in a trio of bar organizations. He is a current member of the American Bar Association, the Chicago Bar Association and the Illinois State Bar Association. Those memberships provide access to continuing legal education and local rules updates, and they keep him tied to developments in state and federal practice.

In day-to-day practice he balances courtroom time with client counseling. Many of his matters involve negotiations with prosecutors and appearances in municipal court. He briefs discovery disputes and files motions when evidence or procedure warrant challenge. His role often requires explaining complex technical testing and legal standards to clients who are facing stressful and unfamiliar processes.

Outside of casework, Ott contributes to the firm’s case-management efforts. He helps coordinate investigators and expert witnesses when cases require technical analysis. He also assists in training newer associates on courtroom procedures and local-court practices.

He has not been publicly listed for judicial office or bar leadership roles. Nor are there public records of authored legal publications associated with his name. He continues to practice as an associate at Suhre & Associates in Chicago, where his work centers on DUI defense and related matters in Illinois courtrooms.

He currently focuses his practice on DUI defense at Suhre & Associates in Chicago.
