About Jason Michael

Jason Michael Rapa earned his law degree from Widener University in 1999 after completing a B.A. in political science at Kings College in 1995. He entered the legal profession at the turn of the millennium and has built a practice grounded in consumer matters. His educational path laid out the groundwork for a career centered on clients facing financial and consumer disputes.

He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and before the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Those admissions allow him to handle cases at state trial level and to represent clients in federal appellate matters that fall within the Third Circuit’s jurisdiction. He maintains an active role in the state bar and related professional forums.

In 2005 he founded Rapa Law Office, P.C. The firm grew out of several years of involvement in consumer advocacy organizations beginning in 2004. Rapa joined national consumer advocacy groups and consumer bankruptcy practitioner organizations in 2004, and that membership has informed the practice he would build. He has run the firm since its founding and continues to serve clients under that banner.

Rapa’s local bar involvement is extensive. He has been a member of the Carbon County Bar Association since 2005 and has served on its board since 2010. He also holds membership in the Lehigh County Bar Association, where he has participated since 2009. He is a current member of the Pennsylvania State Bar. Those ties to county and state bars have kept him connected to developments in local practice and procedure.

His work centers on consumer bankruptcy and related consumer protection matters. He handles Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcies and counsels individuals on debt-resolution options. He also addresses disputes that arise under consumer protection statutes and assists clients in managing the legal consequences of financial distress. His membership in national consumer organizations reflects a sustained interest in those areas.

Rapa operates out of the firm’s Poconos office and continues to accept cases through Rapa Law Office, P.C. He currently practices consumer bankruptcy and consumer protection matters.
