About Jason

Jason Marks built his legal foundation at the University of Iowa and DePaul College of Law. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration, majoring in finance, from Iowa in 1998. He then completed his Juris Doctor at DePaul in 2001. Those years supplied him not only with classroom training but also a grounding in the practical aspects of business and dispute resolution.

He began his legal career in the Waukegan area. From 2002 to 2006 he worked as an associate at Sullivan, Smith, Hauser & Noonan, Ltd., where he learned the routines of client intake, motion practice, and trial preparation. In 2007 he moved into a partnership role at Noonan, Perillo & Marks, Ltd., a position he held through 2013. That stretch included managing cases, advising clients, and overseeing litigation strategies.

Marks maintains active ties to the profession through several bar and trial organizations. He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association. He also belongs to the Lake County Bar Association and the Workers Compensation Lawyers Association. Those memberships keep him connected to local rules, continuing education, and peer developments.

His academic background in finance and his years in private practice shape the kinds of matters he takes on. The business training helps in assessing damages, analyzing medical and economic reports, and preparing cases for negotiation or trial. The professional affiliations reflect work in trial practice and workers’ compensation, and his case handling has included contested hearings and courtroom appearances.

Colleagues describe Marks as methodical in preparing files and direct in court. He has spent years managing client expectations and organizing evidence for hearings. The record shows steady involvement in local legal circles rather than a public-facing record of high-profile appellate rulings. That profile fits a lawyer who spends most of his time resolving disputes for individuals and businesses in his region.

Outside of court and committee meetings he remains based in the same general area where he began his career. He continues to accept matters that require litigation experience, document review, and representation at administrative hearings. He currently focuses his work on civil litigation and workers’ compensation matters in Illinois.
