About Jason M
Jason M Massaro began his legal education at Purdue University, where he earned a B.S. in economics in 1993. He went on to receive his Juris Doctor from Valparaiso University School of Law in 1996. Those academic steps set the groundwork for a courtroom-centered practice and steady involvement in bar organizations across Indiana and the Seventh Circuit.
He entered private practice after law school and became a partner at Singleton, Crist, Austgen & Sears LLP in 1996. That early partnership gave him hands-on experience in business and commercial litigation. In 2006 he joined Tabbert Hahn Earnest & Weddle LLP, where he continued to handle trial and pretrial matters for corporate clients. In 2011 he founded The Massaro Legal Group, LLC and has led the firm as its owner since then.
Massaro has long been active in professional organizations and section leadership. He served on executive committees for the Indiana State Bar Association’s Litigation and Business Law sections. He chaired the Litigation Section of the Indiana State Bar Association in 2014 and led the Defense Trial Counsel of Indiana’s Business Litigation Section the same year. His work with the Defense Trial Counsel of Indiana has included chairing the Trial Tactics Section and later serving as Vice-Chair of the Business Litigation Section.
Courtroom work and appellate practice cross his docket. He is admitted to practice in Indiana as well as before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and the Federal Circuit. That combination has produced a mix of trial preparation, motion practice and appellate briefing. He has been involved in matters where trial strategy and detailed appellate record work mattered, often representing corporate defendants and handling complex business disputes.
He has been involved in the Indianapolis American Inn of Court, serving as Master and earlier as an associate and barrister. The Inn roles reflect a long-running interest in mentoring lawyers and improving trial advocacy. His bar and community engagement also include time with the Indianapolis Bar Association and a stint in the Fishers Rotary Club.
Colleagues describe him as an experienced trial lawyer who pairs practical courtroom experience with steady involvement in bar leadership. He maintains an active Indiana practice and appears in federal appellate courts when the record requires it. He currently concentrates his practice on business litigation and trial work in state and federal courts.
