About Jason Louis

Jason Louis Karavias completed his undergraduate studies at Columbia University, earning a B.A. in Philosophy in 1996. He went on to Boston University School of Law, where he received his J.D. in 1999. The combination of a humanities undergraduate degree and a professional law education shaped an analytical approach that he carried into early law practice. He graduated from law school at the end of the decade and moved directly into roles in both public and private practice.

While still a law student, Karavias gained courtroom exposure through an internship in 1997 at the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York. That early experience in a federal prosecutor’s office preceded a summer associate placement in 1998 at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP. After graduation he continued at Orrick as a lawyer in 1999, working at a national firm that handled litigation and transactional work. In 2002 he began practicing under his own name, listed as Jason Karavias, Esq., and has maintained that practice into the present.

Karavias is admitted to practice in New York and Pennsylvania, and he holds admissions to several federal courts, including the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York, the Southern District of New York, and the Western District of Pennsylvania. Those credentials reflect work in both state and federal court settings. He is an active member of the New York State Bar and the Pennsylvania State Bar. He also belongs to the Allegheny County Bar Association and has been associated with the Neighborhood Legal Services Association since 2013.

Over the course of his career Karavias has combined litigation and courtroom work with client counseling. He has handled matters in trial courts and in federal venues, drawing on earlier prosecutorial office experience and private firm training. He operates under the business name Jason Karavias, Esq., and continues to accept matters that require representation in state and federal courts across New York and Pennsylvania. His current practice handles matters in state and federal courts in New York and Pennsylvania.
