About Jason
Jason Korner began his academic path in numbers. He earned a B.S. in Accounting and Finance from the University of Arizona in 1999. He then turned to law, completing a J.D. at Saint Louis University in 2003, where he concentrated his studies on criminal defense.
After law school, Korner built a practice centered in Missouri. He founded The Law Office of Jason A. Korner in 2009. The firm handles criminal matters across the state and represents clients at various stages, from arraignment through trial. Korner’s work has been grounded in courtroom procedure and evidence handling, informed by his early training in accounting and finance.
Korner’s practice includes a significant number of DUI cases. He holds NHTSA certification in Field Sobriety Test Administration, a credential that reflects technical training relevant to impaired-driving prosecutions. That certification informs how he assesses police procedures, evidentiary weight and the choreography of roadside testing during representation.
He maintains memberships in two national defense organizations. Since 2013 he has been a member of the National College for DUI Defense and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Those affiliations provide him with continuing education and a professional network on DUI and broader criminal-defense issues.
In court, Korner regularly deals with the practical and procedural challenges common to misdemeanor and felony defense. He handles motions, negotiates resolutions when appropriate, and prepares for trial when cases do not settle. His background in accounting sometimes figures into cases where financial records, calculations or expert testimony play a part.
Clients and colleagues describe him as direct and pragmatic in his courtroom approach. He favors clear explanations about options and likely outcomes. He also places emphasis on the technical aspects of criminal cases, especially evidence and testing methods that can affect a case’s trajectory.
Korner keeps his practice local to Missouri and runs his firm from that base. He continues to take cases in criminal defense and DUI matters across the state. He currently focuses on criminal defense and DUI defense in Missouri.
