About Jason

Jason Johnson earned his law degree from Gonzaga University School of Law in 2013 after completing a bachelor’s degree at Trinity Bible College in 1996. He entered the legal profession shortly after law school and built a practice shaped by courtroom work and professional association involvement. His academic path combined liberal arts and legal training, laying a straightforward foundation for litigation work.

Johnson began his post-law-school career at Provident Law, PLLC in 2013. He spent his early years there learning the practical rhythms of case preparation, client meetings and courtroom appearances. Those formative years exposed him to the case management demands and strategic choices that dominate criminal practice.

In 2019 he opened his own firm, Johnson Litigation, PLLC. Starting a solo practice changed the balance of his day-to-day work. He now splits time between client advocacy, case strategy and the administrative obligations of running a practice. The move to a firm under his own name also gave him latitude to shape how cases are handled and how clients are advised.

Johnson is admitted to practice in Washington and Idaho. He has maintained memberships in national organizations relevant to criminal defense. Since 2014 he has been a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the National College of DUI Defense. Those memberships signal regular engagement with developments in criminal law and specialized DUI issues.

His practice centers on criminal defense work, including representation of clients facing DUI charges. He handles pretrial negotiations, evidentiary matters and court hearings. He represents individuals at various stages of criminal proceedings and works to assess evidence, evaluate options and present defenses as cases move through the system.

Colleagues describe his work as grounded and procedural. He tends to emphasize factual investigation and careful attention to court rules. In meetings with clients he often focuses on explaining immediate steps and outlining possible outcomes. That practical orientation is reflected in how he approaches plea discussions, motions practice and trial preparation.

Outside the office he keeps current on DUI-specific developments through the National College of DUI Defense and follows broader criminal law trends via the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He continues to handle matters in both Washington and Idaho. He currently concentrates his practice on criminal and DUI defense in Washington and Idaho.
