About Jason G.

Jason G. Soper graduated from Charleston School of Law with a J.D. in 2004. He completed his legal education at a time when the local bar and federal courts were seeing steady changes. The degree set the stage for a career spent practicing in both state and federal forums.

He is admitted to the South Carolina bar and authorized to appear before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Early in his career he gained courtroom experience in state trial courts. Over time his work expanded to include federal appellate filings and arguments. He established his own practice to handle a mix of trial and appellate matters on behalf of clients in the region.

Soper’s work centers on litigation. He handles pleadings, motions, discovery disputes, and oral argument. He has steered cases through trial-level proceedings and pursued appeals where legal questions required further review. His experience in both trial courts and the Fourth Circuit gives him a practical sense of how issues play out across different levels of the system.

Colleagues describe him as pragmatic and direct in court. He focuses on clear written advocacy and concise oral presentations. His approach is straightforward: identify the legal issue, shape the argument, and present it in a way that judges can follow. That method applies whether he’s addressing a motion in state court or filing a brief in the appellate court.

He founded the Law Office of Jason G. Soper, LLC to provide legal services outside larger firm structures. The office handles litigation matters in South Carolina and cases that may proceed to the Fourth Circuit. Running a smaller practice has allowed him to control case strategy and client communication more closely than might be possible in a bigger firm.

Outside the courtroom he has continued to refine his understanding of procedural and appellate practice. That has meant staying current on evolving case law that affects both trial strategy and appellate chances. He applies that knowledge to evaluate when trial settlement is appropriate and when an appeal is warranted.

He practices under the name Law Office of Jason G. Soper, LLC and continues to represent clients in state courts and in the Fourth Circuit. His current practice focuses on litigation and appellate work in South Carolina and before the Fourth Circuit.
