About Jason B.
Jason B. Stevens grew up interested in how law and community intersect. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Illinois State University in 1997 and went on to receive his J.D. from The John Marshall Law School in 2003. Early clinical work included a 711 externship at the Cook County Public Defender’s Office in 2002, where he first experienced courtroom practice firsthand.
He began his post-law school career at the Law Office of Thomas Glasgow in 2003 as an associate. That role led to a position at Elizer & Meyerson in 2005, where he continued to develop his litigation skills. In 2014 he became a junior partner at Meyerson Stevens Law LTD, a step that expanded his responsibilities in case management and trial preparation. The following year he opened his own practice, The Law Office of Jason B. Stevens P.C., and has operated it since 2015.
Across those roles, Stevens has handled matters in both state and federal forums. He is admitted to practice in Illinois and the Federal Circuit. His early public defender experience and subsequent private work have given him exposure to a range of criminal and federal issues. He is comfortable in court and familiar with the procedural rhythms of trial work.
Stevens maintains an active presence in the local legal community. He has been a member of the Chicago Bar Association since 2008 and joined the Northwest Suburban Bar Association in 2009. Since 2015 he has been involved with multiple county and suburban bar groups including the Cook County Bar Association, DuPage County, Lake County, and several suburban bar associations. He also belongs to the American Institute of Criminal Law Lawyers and participates in the Cook County Bar Association Referral Program.
Colleagues describe him as steady in court and pragmatic at the conference table. His path from an externship in a public defender’s office to running his own firm has given him an uncommon mix of institutional and solo-practice perspectives. He has handled both client counseling and trial advocacy, and he manages his practice day-to-day responsibilities as owner and principal attorney.
He practices in Illinois and handles matters that reach the Federal Circuit. His current practice concentrates on criminal defense and related federal matters.
