About Jason Allen
Jason Allen Hicks trained as a litigator and left law school with a J.D. in 2007 from Stetson University College of Law. He began classes in 2004 and completed the litigation program three years later. Those early years in a practice-oriented program shaped his approach to courtroom work and case preparation.
Fresh out of law school, he moved into public service. In 2007 he served as a prosecutor at the State Lawyer’s Office for Florida’s 18th Judicial Circuit. That role put him in daily contact with judges, victims, and law enforcement. It also offered early trial experience and exposure to the mechanics of criminal procedure.
After his time in the prosecutor’s office he maintained ties to the local bar. He joined the Brevard County Bar Association in 2010 and has remained active there. In 2012 he became a member of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He expanded his professional network in 2014 by joining both the National Advocacy for DUI Defense and the National College for DUI Defense. Those memberships reflect steady involvement in organizations focused on criminal and DUI defense practice.
His career path shows an emphasis on courtroom practice and defense work. The combination of prosecutorial experience and later association memberships gives him perspective on both sides of criminal matters. Colleagues note that background often informs how he evaluates evidence and prepares for hearings.
He maintains an office under his own name, handling matters across Florida. His work has been concentrated on criminal justice matters, and he continues to participate in continuing legal education through the national DUI defense organizations. That ongoing education supports efforts to stay current on evolving standards for testing, procedure, and case law that affect DUI and related cases.
In practice he balances litigation and client counseling. He prepares cases for trial and represents clients in pretrial proceedings and negotiations. He has been part of the Brevard legal community for more than a decade and remains involved in professional organizations that address criminal defense and DUI advocacy. He focuses his practice on DUI and criminal defense in Florida.
