About Jasmine D.
Jasmine D. Rippy entered the legal profession after a sequence of deliberate steps through higher education. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2011, then completed her Juris Doctor at The University of Toledo College of Law in 2015. Those credentials set the stage for a career in Michigan law.
She began her professional practice as an associate at Bodman PLC in 2015. That early period offered exposure to firm life and the demands of client representation. In 2018 she opened Lawyer Rippy, PLC and took on the role of managing lawyer there. One year later she expanded her practice platform by co-founding LADIES IN LAW, a practice she continues to develop and operate.
Rippy has been a member of the State Bar of Michigan since 2015. She has also taken on leadership responsibilities in local bar organizations. In the Wolverine Bar Association she served as treasurer from 2017 to 2018 and then as secretary from 2018 to 2019. Those roles involved administrative oversight and coordination among fellow members.
Her training includes completion of the Criminal Advocacy Program offered by the Wayne County Criminal Defense Bar Association. That program added structured instruction in criminal defense procedures and advocacy techniques. The training complements the practical work she performed in firm settings and in her own practice, where litigation and courtroom preparation have been part of the caseload.
Rippy’s career path shows an attorney who moved steadily from associate to firm leader and entrepreneur. She has taken on both the management tasks that come with running a practice and the day-to-day responsibilities of client representation. Colleagues note her familiarity with Michigan court processes and local bar institutions, and clients see the continuity from her early firm experience through her independent practice.
Today she practices in Michigan through LADIES IN LAW and Lawyer Rippy, PLC, handling matters that include criminal defense and related litigation. Her current practice centers on representing clients in state courts in Michigan.
