About Jared
Jared Perkins built his legal foundation over a decade of study and early courtroom work. He earned a Juris Doctor from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 2017 after earlier undergraduate study in finance at Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi, where he completed a B.B.A. in 2012. He also spent time studying global legal issues through a program at the University of Innsbruck, Austria in 2015. Those academic stops gave him classroom exposure to both domestic practice and comparative perspectives.
Perkins entered practice in Texas shortly after law school. In 2017 he joined The Law Office of Eric Perkins as an associate, a role that introduced him to trial preparation and client counseling in active case dockets. Two years later he took on a leadership role. In 2019 he became managing partner at Perkins & Perkins, Trial Lawyers. The move placed him in charge of case strategy and day-to-day firm operations while keeping him in the courtroom.
His professional associations reflect an emphasis on courtroom advocacy. He is listed with The National Trial Lawyers beginning in 2023. He has also held membership in a separate professional organization since 2017, and he has been involved with the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association since 2017. Those affiliations align with the practice he has pursued since his earliest days as an associate.
Colleagues and clients describe Perkins as a lawyer who spends long hours preparing for trial and handling the procedural demands that such work requires. He has experience in criminal defense, and he regularly handles pretrial motions, evidentiary hearings, and jury trials. His practice requires balancing casework, filing deadlines, and client communications, and his role at the firm involves supervising other attorneys and support staff.
Perkins’s background includes both local and international study, and he has applied that mix to a practice rooted in Texas courts. He has continued membership in multiple legal organizations while running a small trial-focused firm. Outside of court, he engages in the administrative duties expected of a managing partner and contributes to the firm’s case management systems.
He currently serves as managing partner at Perkins & Perkins, Trial Lawyers, where he represents clients in criminal defense and trial matters.
