About Jared
Jared Justice built his academic foundation on business studies before turning to law. He took business coursework at Portland State University in 2000 and completed a B.S. in Business and Communications at Southern Oregon University in 2001. He earned his J.D. from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in 2005.
After law school, Justice moved into practice in Oregon. Early in his career he worked on contract for Stahancyk, Kent, Johnson & Hook, P.C. in 2008, handling matters that placed him in court and before clients needing direct counsel. The very next year he opened his own practice, establishing Jared Justice, Lawyer at Law, P.C. in 2009 and taking on the responsibilities of owner and principal attorney.
That transition to running a firm shaped how he handles cases. Managing a small office requires attention to both legal detail and client logistics. He handles case intake, court filings, and direct client contact. He has experience speaking in hearings and representing clients at various stages of criminal proceedings.
Professional associations are a steady part of his profile. He has been a member of the Multnomah Bar Association since 2008. In 2009 he joined the Oregon Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He also holds membership in the Clackamas County Bar Association from 2009 onward. Those affiliations suggest regular engagement with peers and continuing legal education tied to criminal defense practice.
Colleagues and opposing counsel note that his practice emphasizes practical problem solving. He spends much of his time preparing for hearings and negotiating pleas when that serves a client’s interests. He also prepares cases for trial when necessary. He balances courtroom work with the office tasks that keep a small firm operational.
Justice’s work over the years has been rooted in local practice. He has kept his practice in Oregon and maintained ties to the county bar organizations where he works. His firm structure allows for direct attorney-client contact and a hands-on approach to case management. He continues to maintain memberships in state and national criminal defense organizations, and he practices criminal defense at his firm.
