She has been practicing law for over 29 years, serving clients throughout the Southern California area.
Ms. Peterson-Lord earned her Juris Doctor degree from Pepperdine University School of Law in 1996. Prior to law school, she completed her undergraduate education at the University of California, Los Angeles, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science in 1974. During her time at Pepperdine, she focused on courses related to immigration law, laying the foundation for her future practice.
Ms. Peterson-Lord concentrates her practice in the areas of immigration law, family law, and business law. She represents individuals and businesses in matters involving employment-based temporary visas, professional H-1B visas, TN visas under NAFTA, investor visas, and various family-based immigration cases. Her practice encompasses all stages of legal proceedings, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Throughout her career, Ms. Peterson-Lord has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of Los Angeles, the United States District Court for the Central District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. Prior to founding her own firm, she worked as an associate at a mid-size litigation firm in Century City for five years.
Ms. Peterson-Lord is an active member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the American Immigration Lawyers Association. She holds membership in the State Bar of California. She is also a certified mediator through the Los Angeles County Superior Court mediation program. Ms. Peterson-Lord is fluent in English and Spanish, allowing her to serve the diverse communities of Los Angeles County effectively.
