About Jamie
Jamie Kerr earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Rice University in 2000 and went on to receive her J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law in 2012. Her academic background combined social science and legal training. That combination helped shape the approach she brought to public service early in her career.
While in law school and shortly after graduation, Kerr held positions in county legal offices. She served as a law clerk in 2010 at the Travis County District Lawyer’s Office. In 2012 she worked as an intern at the Williamson County Lawyer’s Office. Those early roles exposed her to courtroom procedure and client-facing responsibilities in a local government setting.
In 2012 Kerr was listed as a Board Certified Family Law Lawyer and has been certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Board certification signals a recognized level of specialization in family law under the state’s standards. Over time she moved from government work into private practice, applying the skills she developed in clerkships and internships to family law matters in Texas courts.
Kerr is associated with Powers Kerr & Rashidi, PLLC. At the firm she has been identified as a board certified family law lawyer, a credential that shapes how she approaches cases and counsel. Her professional path includes both public-sector work and private practice, giving her experience on different sides of family law disputes and courtroom practice.
She is licensed to practice law in Texas and has built a practice that draws on earlier county-office work and the specialization recognized by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Her background in psychology and law informs how she handles client interactions and case strategy. She currently practices family law at Powers Kerr & Rashidi, PLLC, representing clients in Texas family law matters.
